Bicentennial Man
In the movie, “Bicentennial Man”
there was a robot that was purchased by a man and his family, “Sir, Miss,
Little Miss, and her sister”. The robot
was named when he was activated by Sir and was named by little Miss, if Andrew
was to take the Turing test while he was activated, he would have failed. It’s because he did not yet understand what things meant like when
Sir and Andrew where at the basement Sir said goodnight and he would keep
responding and responding goodnight because he would not understand. And also another is when they were at the
kitchen, Andrew offered a drink to the family and Sir responded, “no were fine”
and Andrew said, “Yes you are”. And if
Andrew were to take it after he fell from the window he would pass because he
would not take some orders and would learn on himself and give stuff like a
wooden unicorn with no one to tell him too.
And I really think that robots that
are as intelligent as man should be considered human if they were able to cry,
laugh, self learner, and make decisions on it’s
own. And another big thing that I would
consider him a human for me is that he would be able to reproduce, that’s in my
opinion and would start off small and grow and develop like a real human. And also they should be considered as
appliance because it would really help us out in the war so no human can die,
but if they were to be shut down we can reprogram them and make use for
something else. It would also help us
out with our jobs that are to hard to do and would help us out with our future
economy.
I think humans should not be able to
handle the responsibility that comes up to the robot “Andrew” in the
movie. He acts like a human and has
conversation like one too; it would not be fair for the robot to be like a slave
to any human and has to do their demand.
They should have the freedom to do things and live on their own like all
humans in the world were meant to.
Andrew is like a human that could help out the world with all that is
need and could make the world a better place.
I think that a human should be able
to marry who ever he or she chooses. It
would be wrong to say you can not marry the person that you love and spend the
rest of your time with. Like Andrew was
feeling love when little misses’s grand daughter first met. At first they did not like each other, but
when they got the chance to talk to, they were falling in love and also little
miss’s daughter was felling love when Andrew and her kissed.
In my opinion, I think that true Ai
should have the same rights as a human and also be considered as a human if
that robot was able to die like the rest of the humans because it would not be
fair for the rest to suffer and one robot just keep living forever. Andrew in the trial the first time he wasn’t
considered a human because he did not have a human brain, but in the second
they saw that he was aging and dying like a regular human would.
I think that true Ai would be a
great thing and would also be a bad thing.
It would be good for humans because they could tell us what is wrong
with us and also
